Well, the Challenge 128 voter turnout was excellent! Hopefully this trend will continue, thanks to Warren's very convenient voting system! Thanks again also to Mike F. and the 'bumpers' for helping to keep the challenge thread current and for all work done behind the scenes! John Dunn, congrats btw for winning the 'movie debate' category that was initiated by Franky2005! :)

Now on to the results...

In the ELIGIBLE category, it was a tight race for the top 3 spots right from the start, but in the end, 'the tribe has spoken' and a winner emerged! The bonus points were not a factor in the outcome here! I'm happy to announce that the winner of this challenge is someone who has participated in these things for a long time, who has been 'nominated' often but never took home the 'oscar' until now... Congratulations John Dunn for your winning entry of "Teahouse of the August Moon", a beautifully composed night scene that is very reminiscent of the scenery in the movie itself! John, you've built up a collection of these images and I seriously think you'd get attention if you ever showed them as a series in an exhibit! Congrats again, and I'm looking forward to seeing what you'll announce for Challenge 130!

In the EXHIBITION category, the bonus points were a bit of a factor for the 1st-place race, with the top two voted images running neck-and-neck throughout! As a result, we've got a tie and both images deserve that recognition! MCsaba's smoke-shaping "Intimacy" and Bottles' mystical interpretation of "The Last Voyage" were both superb entries! Congratulations to the both of you for your very well-deserved wins and I'm also looking forward to seeing you two strut your stuff again in Challenge 130!

Thanks finally to all entrants, this was definitely a fun one to watch!

Congratulations John Dunn, what a well deserved win your Teahouse image was; a beautiful image indeed! Congratulations also to MCsaba! Your "Intimacy" image was just unbelievable. What a talented person you are!

Thanks Martin, for being a wonderful host of a really fun challenge! Nice job!

Thanks also to everyone who voted for my Last Voyage image, your votes are truly encouraging and so very much appreciated! Thank you very much!

Looking forward to the new challenge by John Dunn, bring it on John!

Thanks everyone for your votes, and congratulations too, to Bottles and McSaba, whose names often appear among the winners.

I've felt in the past that I had some strong entries, but there are many very talented shooters in STF and so people were always able to produce wonderful shots that placed above mine. With the great shooters from the Konica Minolta Talk forum joining in here, the chances of winning got even more remote. I honestly gave up, but continued to participate, because it's fun, and I wanted to support the Challenge.

So maybe I'm an example of how a person can improve over time if they keep trying. Or maybe I'm just proof that any fool can get lucky. Ha ha.

I have an idea for the next challenge, but I'm not quite sure how to proceed. I'll get on it as soon as I can.

...for your stunning entry. And congratulations also to Bottles and MCsaba--great stuff!

Also, thank you Martin for your excellent hosting job and your fabulously fun topic.

Bottles, I forgot to mention, I hope you and MCsaba don't mind the combined image I made to represent the two 1st-place entries at pbase. I figure it's the fairest way to do that but I'd also understand if you guys have an issue with someone modifying your works. If so, just let me know and we can come up with another way! Congratulations again! :)

...to John, MCsaba and bottles -- they were all great pictures and well deserving of their win! And thanks also to Martin for stepping up in the absence of our host -- good idea and a fun challenge!

Not a problem with me at all, the way you did it. Or, you could just put MCsaba's image first if you'd like. If it hadn't been for the bonus points, he would have really been the first place winner. That would be fine with me as well. No big deal in either case :-)

and a special congrats to John. You have been working on this particular subject for a long time and the effort shows in this incredibly beautiful and well-done shot. You have also given much to this forum and deserve this win as much as anyone. Way to go! Looks good on ya!

Congratulation John, a wonderful picture. And it was my great honour to share the place in the exhibition with bottles' fantastic shot. I knew imediately that it is unbeatable when I saw it... Very creative and great stuff in both galleries, thanks to Martin, to push all of us to those hights! Cheers, MCsaba
