Cannot install Z50II firmware update

I formatted the memory card and downloaded the file from the Nikon USA website on to the card (in the top-level folder)

Inserted the card into the camera and selected Firmware version in the setup menu.

Auto update is grayed out, when I select auto update, I get the following message:

This option is not available at current settings or in the camera's current state.

What next?
