Can HC lenses keep up with the GFX sensor?

I've only tested three, but the results were disappointing. The 80 did the best. The 150 and the 120 macro (1st gen) were pretty soft.

Here's a test of the Hassy/Fuji HC 120/4 macro against the Fuji native 120/4 macro:

The HC lens is bigger, heavier, and only focuses to 1:4.

By the way, there's a problem with the collar/foot of the otherwise really nice Fuji H-series to GFX adapter: the tripod screw hole is too short for RRS plates. If I'm going to continue to mess with H-lenses, I'm going to have to shim the plate.

OTOH, one of the reasons that I bought it, to be able to use my H-lenses, now looks pretty silly.

In a sense, the GFX makes a lot of sense to me. So it is nice to hear that it lives up to it's promise.

My initial impressions of the first images from the GFX and early comments from Lloyd Chambers made me a bit skeptical. But it is nice to have a real … writing about his findings and sharing the protocol used.

I don't have any problem getting the 120 macro to focus stopped down in MF mode. Maybe my FW is different from his?
