C1 vs Lr color rendition with the a7RII

I have been thinking about this post for the last couple of days. There must be something there that I don't get it. Please enlighten me.

If I understand the post correctly, the comparisons are performed to compare the default settings of C1 and LR. My issue is that I don't think people would use the default values for PP. Otherwise, one might as well as getting the JPEG images from the camera.

So I am trying to get an useful interpretation from the post. Please help.

As far as I can tell from just messing around with JPEG settings, the default a7RII raw settings for both Lr and C1 are different than any in camera JPEG setting for the a7RII. If someone believes differently, I can test, but I'd rather not spend the time if no one is making that claim.

There is a recurring set of posts here that C1 is more accurate or somehow better than Lr or vice versa. I'm trying to bring some clarity to that discussion.
