I like the composition with the bird in the middle and the art effect added turned it into a painting. Very cool. What setting did you use? Watercolor?

I can't say I'm keen on the conversion. The bird looks interesting enough as is. The painting effect makes the back ground shout too much for me, sorry

That's ok. Everyone likes different effects that makes everyone's pictures unique.

I am old school. To me the photo is over exposed and I would like to see feather detail rather than the washed out look. I like that the bird is standing one foot, but I would prefer to see the entire foot rather than only part of his foot.

In my opinion the whites are blown out, like you beach pictures.

But the important fact is; if you like them and are enjoying yourself it's fine.

Most of the time the in camera filters are not as nice as (instagram) filters on a cell, I find the bird over cooked, one part dark and one part white, I would have preferred a pastel filter or similar.

Maybe you can set some exposure compensation, or take pictures at a different time.

In time your taste and knowledge might change.
