C&C please

really nice shot!

Err, probably I'm not fully awake (still trying to sip my first cup of coffe, lol) but the horizon doesn't look quite level to me.
Anyways, wish I was there too!

Very nice shot. Consider cropping a SMALL amount of the bottm hoizontal area, just below the boat.

Lovely picture, very, very nice. That is a definite keeper and one to be proud of. I think you should think about having a print made, large enough to frame.

I too thought it looked tilted when I viewed it, but that is easily fixed.
Your first picture.

After straightening

Not a lot difference, but I think there is a subtle change.

I daresay one profits more by the mistakes one makes off one's own bat than by doing the right thing on somebody's else advice.

How would you crop this with an 8x10 aspect ratio. It seemsd like I will lose a lot of the picture. I am going to remember to frame for cropping in the future. Thanks!

Wow, did you position the canoes like that on purpose? The entire scene is composed very nicely!

8x10 is going to be difficult. Your picture is esentially has a 2x3 ratio so 8x10 is going to lose a lot the closest is 6x9 or 8x12. An 8x12 print runs around $4 ($3.99 at smugmug)

SmugMug is undergoing maintenance tonight and these pictures might not always be visible until Friday morning.

8x10 lose on left side, very little lose on right side.

8x12 very small lose on left only (lose due to former straighting)

Beautiful lake, forget the dogs though, too many pictures of dogs on this forum.

We dropped the canoes there the previous day after a long day of paddling. Not much thought going into it. The temperature was in the low 30's when we woke up and I was more concerned about hot coffee than composition.

I will contribute most if not all of this to luck but it sure makes me want to keep taking pictures.

I wish I had shot this in RAW. Do online printing services usually modify or enhance the pictures before printing or do they print it like it is received?

Thanks for all the comments.

Wow thats a pretty interesting shot. At first I am drawn to the fog/mist whatever that is but the glassy ater and the canoe/kayak is what I like best about it. Any chance you can get another shot of that around sunset...would be a pretty pic I think.

Thanks, There were high tree lines on the east and west side of this inlet so it took away the sunset/sunset picture opportuniy.
