borderless printing using PSP 8?

Can anyone help with this printing problem?

I'm using the Epson 950 to print full colour A4 jpgs on my 950 printer. I specify no margins in the Epson print utillty and select A4 size in PSP, centre in frame etc, however the print always come with a border which is small at the left and right edges but fairly large (2cm?) at top and bottom.

PSP seems to overrule the Epson print options, but I don't know which settings to change to get it to lose the margins.

Can anyone advise??

The aspect ratio of the photo that you are trying to print may not be appropriate for the print size chosen. Can you check that?

have you tried using MS picture viewer to print the image once you've blown it up to A4?

My advice would be to download the trial of Qimage and try that. I had the same problem with PSP 8 as you describe, but with Qimage, it prints exactly as you want it. Here's the link --

Moray, what size are the image dimensions in inches and pixels? If the aspect ratio does not fit A4, then the Epson driver will not automatically crop the long end for you. You have to do that by cropping, or designating the width (short dimension) as at least a4 in Print Setup.

The pic was straight out of the camera at 2560x1920 pixels and FINE jpg resolution, so you're right, it wasn't at A4 aspect ratio. I guess I was just hoping that PSP would crop the image to fit the page with no borders, but obviously not.

I'll try resizing (but losing quality......) or using QImage as suggested by another poster.
