Blinking/freezing A9 viewfinder issue

that could be, aren't some of the f/2.8 zooms for example closing down slightly to focus? to prevent focus shifting.

i don't recall the fe90 being one of those lenses... i guess that i need to follow up the face detection override theory with it.

It's not blinking and no freezing but just momentarily darken and brighter (1" or less), I just tried FE 55 on A9 with -1 EC @f8 or F11.

It's known that Sony e-mount stop-down issue on some FE lenses. Personally not a big deal in my usage as I usually shoot wide open in low light. In case you could use Canon or Sigma EF lenses that don't stop down and now they also support eye-AF on A9 if you shoot in studio for example.

Push the button by lens and DOF is shown like most A mount cameras.
Are you talking about a9? Which button? You mean the lens release button? Haha. That’s the only button on the front of the camera. As I said, there is no DOF preview button on the a9.

A99 WYSIWYG does not include DOF preview as it does SOMETIMES on the a9. See explanation above.
Yes. I know. I guess you replied to my comment, but you didn’t read my comment. And one line replies with no context cause lots of unnecessary confusion.

Sorry, I wasn't confused, A mount has DOF in the viewfinder
Of course. It’s decades old technology. But you have to push the button on an A mount camera.
