Hi,hope you're fine.Your edit is fantastic, would you mind telling the steps of the process to get the result you got. It's almost as if the photos of the bird come from different cameras. Thanks a lot in advance.Best wishes.Yod

Looks too grainy to me. I am sure a result of increasing the contrast too much. I like the crop though. Definitely places the bird in the center of the photo...

I have a new camera and a blank mind...teach me.

Hi,

Thank you + yeah I'm fine considering I spent the last few days celebrating St. Patricks Day here in Ireland :) :)
Anyway Yod my edit.

Ok 1st of all I always shoot Raw so this leaves all of the decisions to me in ACR Like sharpening, contrast, saturation, white balance, and so on.....

When finished in ACR I open it in CS3 the 1st thing I do is apply USM A=20 R=60 T=0 this I like to call a HazeBuster :)

Ok then I applied other filters from Colour Efex Pro. I choose Brilliance/Warmth filter + Darken/Lighten Center.

I also applied a S Curve adjustment + then applied this Sharpening technicque> http://ohiovalleycameraclub.com/wiki/index.php/Kelby_Sharpening_Technique
And Last I applied Smart Sharpening.
Hey Yod I've just realised I've applied an Awful Lot of Sharpening :)
Cheers
Ray
