Hi,

I'm new to this forum, have been reading with interest about BFS, I'm sure its something I've noticed on my F707

Can someone cast their expert eye over a few pics to tell me if I have the dreaded BFS

There are 4 lots of 5 pics,
first 5 no flash,
second 5 internal flash
third 5 hvl1000 flash
forth 5 hvl1000 bounced

all on auto settings taken one after another on a tripod.

?

Just looking at the differences between 4214/4215 & 4193/4194 leads me to disagree...

Cyberslave: Upon further viewing, I see that those pics DO indeed exhibit BFS. I allowed myself to be fooled by only viewing the thumbnails....Paul Pavlik

I agree. They do exibit BFS, although not as pronounced as others I have seen, including mine, which were severe. Get the fix dude! I did and am pleased with the results. I have not had one blue tinted image with low light flash since the fix. I've conducted three tests...the same ones I did when I first got my Dark Angel. They were all BFS free. Send it to Sony for the fix. No fear. Mine came back in perfect condition and they even cleaned the LCD screen for me...lol.

I just picked up a 707, and I think I am taking it back! The serial # is within the range of those effected, so I took some pics to see if I could view the difference. I believe there is a difference in the first 2 pics I took, and none seem to be exactly the same. Take a look at them and post your opinions. I am by no means an expert, but I think I saw the difference on Gwynn's pics too.

Thanks!

PS- I mainly saw the diff in the grey box on the booklet showing the camera. I stacked them on top of each other when I opened them, so it was a little easier to see the changes. It is harder going from one pic to the other like the link. Is there a better way to test, more white in the pic?

I see no BFS in the pics U posted. Just a little variation in lighting..no more.

It doesn't matter what's in the pic dude. Black, white, brown...whatever. Low light flash will yield a definite blue tint if U have BFS. Do a search for Randy D and you will find the post I made with the pics of my BFS test. I'm too drunk to look for it myself right now..........lol.

I thought we were looking at different albums. I see he posted this a few times in a row. :)

My recommendation: Send it in or wait for the retailer to get new stock. Either way, he can't lose.
