Bait & switch shipping happen to others?
Anyone call customer service to complain, request some kind of compensation?
(yes, people worldwide are starving, being murdered, but...)
Our "expedited shipping" description says, "This item is eligible for free expedited shipping in the contiguous (lower 48) United States. Expedited shipping should arrive in 1-3 business days, depending on your location. Expedited Delivery not available to PO Boxes." it does not suggest or imply or promise any particular shipper or shipping option. We reserve the right to select those in return for your $0 shipping fee.

The order for the Seagate drive was received on 12/28 after 4:00pm and ready for UPS the same evening. They'll begin to move it Fri 12/29.The ETA is 1/4 because Sat & Sun are not business days and 1/1 is a holiday. Three business days are Jan 2, 3, 4.

For future reference - if you click on the "Details" down arrow next to the Shipping estimate in the blue banner near the top of the page, you'll get a US map showing which zones can expect 1, 2 or 3 day shipping.
 
That's an improper, reputation-threatening, subject line written without the facts (which are clearly provided on the website). "Expedited Shipping' does not mean overnight. I've dealt with B&H for a couple of decades and understand their shipping practices, which are good. Apologies are in order.

Perhaps you would prefer to PAY for your shipping in order to get the type of shipping you prefer?

Call them - they'll fix it. If you indeed got free expedited shipping and it's on your order form, then you should get just that and they will honor it or give you some concession. No need to complain here.

If you click on EXPEDITED SHIPPING to see how B&H defines it, they say
"Expedited shipping should arrive in 1-3 business days, depending on your location."
That is, EXPEDITED shipping is not synonymous with OVERNIGHT shipping. I'd guess that in cases where B&H believes that ground shipping services can do the job "fast enough", they might use ground shipping instead of overnight shipping. And if they sent the item via some sort of express ground service, or even with the expectation of normal delivery times being within their "expedited" range, it would not be bait and switch.

I have been disappointed with my expectations of BH in the past, mostly due to holiday/weekend activity/inactivity. I am glad information is more prominent than in the past.

Not a big fan of the new filtering system on the app though.

How about you just call customer service so they can explain what happened instead of using a provocative and deprecating thread title which may be inaccurate? Hint: it could have been an error.

but some of us are consumer-service sensitive,
which benefits ALL future consumers, IMO.
And some of us are too cheap to pay for things and depend on internet whining to get what they want, while expecting the rest of us to be dumb enough to pick up your bill.

same shipping offer would predict
arrival Sat PM -- can that happen with "ground"?
Why would you expect it to arrive Saturday? According to the B&H web site "expedited shipping" means delivery in three business days to Florida. They can choose any shipping method that will provide delivery within three business days. Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (New Years Day) are not business days. As long as it arrives by Wednesday you have no cause to complain. If you wanted it sooner you had other options, not free, that were clearly provided at checkout. Next time, instead of complaining, pay for the service you want.
