Attention A700 Macintosh users!

I found that I had to download an earlier IDC that would work with the a100.
You might just want to download it and try. It won't hurt anything.

Thats exactly the problem, Im a Windoz user and not proud of it one
byte...
We'll forgive you. I'm a mac user, but sitting here working on my mac with my token PC laptop running to one side doing Microsoft's mysterious updating. No clue given as to what it's stuffing in there.
Thats why I need to jump into the Mac boat ASAP, but I always make
sure my bases are covered, so if I buy a A700 and a Mac wont
recognize it, then I should stick to Windows, but now thats been
cleared up...
Actually the best way to get the photos off your card is not to hook up the camera but use a firewire card reader. If you get a newer mac that has Firewire 800 it's twice as fast as the camera USB can ever be, even the original Fireware 400 is faster with these readers. That's what I use, I have a Delkin and a Sandisk firewire card reader and read the cards directly at very fast speeds. Far faster than the USB card readers I have around. I've never hooked up my a700 to any of my computers. Though I'm sure there is no problem, just don't have the need.
Do they get along well? Is Aperture a better program than Photoshop
to process RAW files and edit photos? (I know this question is
subjective to the particular needs of every person, but what do you
think?) Has your Mac got stuck or crash while using Aperture?
Photoshop is essentially the gold standard of photo editing. Programs like aperture can do some editing, but their primary interface design is for cataloging or slide show type things.

At the moment Adobe software still has some quirks processing a700 raw, particularily high ISO raw. But I don't remember anyone saying Aperture was better. Adobe has gone through several updates of their raw processor with no definitive fix of the problems. Each new edition is just slightly better. Read back threads in here on the subject.
