"APS-C sized" four/thirds ratio sensors

I had hoped & figured as much. Very likely the setup of gear that I purchase will be it for some time unless I discover a new source of income or this new camera enhances my meager sales beyond my hopes. The starving artist discussion has been had so I won't go there but I am glad to hear the continued comments on this thread and that APS-C or technology compatible with current lenses will be readily available for awhile yet.

By the time Pentax comes up with a camera with an alternative sensor
format, they'll have a plan for how it will be able to make use of
all the lenses they've spent several hundred million dollars
developing for the past several years. ;-)
Quite frankly, I feel Pentax are just as likely to make a different format to fit their DA image circle as go FF (24 x 36). Both are very unlikely to happen, if ever!

Their next format size is much more likely to be the 645D and that is 4/3rds (cropped 645 at 45 x 34mm) and likely to be a whopping 30+ MP for great IQ.

They already have a ready made body design and lens mount format for this beastie, not to mention a lot of legacy lenses (and users) out there, so my money is still on that animal to win the race for a different format from Pentax.

Being 4/3, at least Godfrey will be happy, but maybe not with the size and price! ;-)

The price is the only issue ... I have a P645 with two lenses already. I'll likely need the body and one shorter lens. Affording it ... Let's not think about that just now. ;-)

The next sensible format size is 1:1.414 ie. A4/A3/A2 etc.

Wouldn't that be nice for printing!
