Anyone using Wacom tablets for editing?

I've been worried about repetitive strain injury so I bought a thumb trackball and the small Grapphire a short while ago (the idea being to mix up my interface methods).

Now I've got trackball at work, mouse at home, and tablet/mouse on my graphics machine.

I adjusted to the trackball almost immediately. The tablet is still fighting me.

I've been using a mouse with Photoshop for about 12 years now and I'm lightning quick & controlled. If it weren't for the RSI issue, I'd be a happy camper.

So to those tablet lovers out there - how long was your adjustment period? I'm patient with the tablet, but my doubts are rising.

My tablet arrived earlier today. I've been playing around with it
for only a couple hours so far.

So far i'm really happy. The sensitivity is FAR better than my old
Artz II. The specs say it's 4x the sensitivity, and it really
feels like it. However, I don't know if my old tablet was
malfunctioning.

I'm able to get very thin lines with a VERY slight pressure on the
tablet, and can smoothly get thicker lines as i apply pressure. My
old tablet was very bad in this area.

So in summary, i'm extremely happy with it. I got a decent deal at
2buystore.com (under $275 w/ shipping).

Sounds good. I'm still dithering about whether to go for the graphire3 or really go mad and get the intuos2! I wish there was somewhere that you could try them out first.
