Any problems with B&H?

Well I tried again just after I posted the last message. This time it worked. I'll let you know in a couple of weeks how it all goes.

BTW I've just bought a 50mm AF-D 1.8 lens for US$116 including shipping. This should translate to around aus$150. Same lens in Australia is about $250, lets hope customs doesn't slug me too much.
Hi all,

Am looking at buying some stuff (...70-200VR....yum yum) from B&H
Photo and having it sent out to Australia. I haven't dealt with
them before. Any customers with pros/cons after having dealt with
them? Particularly International customers. They seem OK, just want
to make sure.

Thanks

See my post above titled "So, how did it go?....Not so well...."
They double charged my order, but after a few emails, they claim
they have refunded the excess charge (havn't got my statement yet,
I'm sure they will have). This was more due to ordering via the
web, and then by email having that order cancelled and another
processed (see below), but the first order was still charged to the
card.
Same thing happened to me
PPS: You will probably have to email them to order the 70-200VR.
They won't accept your VISA or Mastercard on their web site for
this unit if you live in Australia. I emailed them a copy of my CC
statement, which has my postal address on it, and they were then
happy to process the order against my card.
That was the start of my problems
PPS: There is an Aussie trying to sell an excess 70-200VR he got
from B&H in these forums, you might just be able to pick it up from
him instead if he still has it.
That IS me! I only resurrected this topic to give my results for anyone else who might be interested. I started this thread a month ago before I ordered the lens.

that shoud get through customs without any charges at all. There is a AU$250 limit via courieres like UPS, and its around $500 or more via AirMail, so your well under it. No GST or customs clearance for you my boy!
