Any Comments of New Layout and Name of the Forum?

I noticed that too. While I think SLR/SLT is a good title, I just hope they add Sony FF forum, because right now Sony has 5 FF models (A900/850/99/RX1/VG900).

I give it a "mixed" rating. While some features are nice, with the prior layout it was easy to find your own posts within a thread. At least on FireFox there's no distinction - I think they need to put something like that in place, because when you're in a rush you just want to see if someone's commented on your post (or asked a question).

It'll take awhile to get used to, to be sure. I can't say I hate it, but I can't say I love it either. Facebook made some major changes recently and people, including myself, were crying for a revolution. Now, after a few months, you don't here anything about it. Change is hard, but inevitable. Once everybody takes a deep breath and settles in, it'll be ok.

Are you talking about the new forum layout or EVFs? :)
Cheers,

Two things bother me a great deal, and I hope that DPR will fix these problems:

First, it does not highlight threads I have looked at or posts withing a threasd in a different color, making it vastly more difficult to use.

Second, the second message panel, showing the message as it will read when posted, has been eliminated. I always thought that this was a great and very important feature that no one else had.

I think the UI is better, but withdraw post is not working or is that feature on a time limit?

I do like the way you can preview comments without opening them--a time saver to bypass some of the argumentative stuff. The format puts too much space between them so you don't get as many on the screen at once which seems like wasted screen space and makes scrolling slower. Also would like my comments highlighted/marked as well as the ones I've read. I may be able to do these things myself when I get used to using this.

If you post a full size shot in your gallery am I correct in assuming it would be easy for someone to "lift" for their own purposes? I normally have only posted reduced versions to avoid this.

Maybe now, we won't have to deal with people who don't know what an Alpha SLR/SLT is. There's a number of people who have been posting about the CYBER-SHOT RX-1 on this forum just because it has an APS-C sized sensor.

If you click on the collapsed view - it lists more threads on a page

Much less readable, the bright "spots" the posts make are blinding.

I am preferring many of the changes to it, more info seems to be available but the title/thread font is larger so most lines are wrapping and extending the info, harder to flip through.

OOh, just found the compressed view which returns this to the way I prefer, it seems to be sticking in threaded view instead of flat view though.

Disturbing layout, and worst is that it is only using half of my 22 inch monitor! so I have a big screen but can only see a lot of small post...

Thumbsdown from me for the new layout!
