Hi
I am using the Peak Design strap And want to have the abillity to easily connect the cam to tripod.
Found on peakdesign.com some "tweek" ... but I'm not A "macgyver guy" ;-) , not An Handyman.
Is there A solution to just quicly connect and that's it?
Fuji X-T1 is my camera.
Thank you

Unless you are not explaining yourself very well the use of any particular strap has little or nothing to do with the ability to carry out a rapid tripod connection.

In general, either attach an Arca-Swiss compatible tripod plate on the camera base or else use one of the many Arca-Swiss compatible Camera Grips [including Fuji's own grips]; then make sure your tripod has an Arca-Swiss head. Connecting the camera to the tripod should then take no more than 5-10 seconds.

It is also possible to use the camera plate from Peak Design's Capture/Capture Pro systems as a suitable base plate with most Arca-Swiss tripod heads.

You will have to get new ball head that has an Arca Swiss-compatible clamp on it. It is possible that your clamp is already compatible and you just haven't tried it.

Hi,

My tripod is Slik Sprint PRO II 3Way

I think it is not compatible with Arca-Swiss...
Some Slik heads are, but probably not that one (from a quick look at the product page). If the clamp can be detached from the ball stem, you may be able to replace it with an Arca-Swiss compatible clamp (if not from Slik, from RRS or Sunwayfoto, to name my go-to's for this sort of thing).

I go to those sites mentioned first to see if there's a solution, then I use that to search further if looking for a better deal (Sunwayfoto is usually the better deal). I presume you have the SH-800 DQ head - if so, checking the schematic manual shows the clamp to be permanently affixed (can't replace the clamp). If you have another head, check the manuals/schematics on the Slik site. :(

If a clamp on a ball head can be replaced, one needs to check how the original plate mates with ball shaft and find a like replacement (noting the underside of the center mounting hole on the replacement clamp).

That model is discontinued; which is probably why it was on sale cheap. It does not support Arca-Swiss plate connections and the head and column can not be replaced.

You might possibly find an adapter plate to allow you to use the Slik tripod with an Arca-Swiss compatable plate or bracket, or you could simply connect the Slik plate supplied with the tripod to your camera without using an Arca-Swiss compatable plate or adapter.

Alternatively, send the tripod back and buy a tripod which does have an Arca-Swiss head.

The disadvantage of using the camera only with the supplied Slik plate is that you can only use that with other Slik tripods. Arca-Swiss compatable plates and brackets can be used with hundreds of different tripods.

You will not be able to use those - or any other - alternative head plates with your Slik tripod.

Either send the tripod back and buy a tripod which has a removable Arca-Swiss compatible head, or just use the supplied Slik tripod plate with the camera.

The reason for using the supplied Slik tripod adapter plate: it's the cheapest fastest solution, but it will not work in the future with any other brand/type of tripod.

The reason for using an Arca-Swiss compatible plate/bracket: it works with hundreds of different makes and models of tripod.
