I've only had my 23 f2 for two days now and really haven't been able to give at a good outdoor test as it's been raining pretty heavy here for past three days. My biggest surprise to this point is just how tiny the lens is and how fast and totally silent the AF is.
At standard distance at f2 the lens appears to be pretty darn sharp. As I told another poster who asked if I find the soft images close up at f2 to be an issue, I said no. This is the same issue as the 23 f2 on the X100 series suffers. If you don't fight the limitations of the lens design it's not an issue. If I want super close up shots wide open (without using a macro or ext. tubes) I'll grab the 16mm. Not only f1.4 but super sharp wide open and focuses to 5" from sensor so you can pretty much touch your subject with the front element if you want and have sharp images.
