Very creative Rob. I love it!!

Figured I'd better throw something in. This stuff's kinda fun,
although somewhat time consuming.
I was gonna put "Free to Shoplifters" by the U.S. and Canadian
prices but neglected to do so when I merged layers for the .jpg.
Still could do it as I have the complete layered
.psd.

I loved that job and the people who I worked with in the EEO office. When I heard that they were going to make me an application developer I knew out of pure spite that I was leaving.

The new management had killed my "Webfoot" column on the base intranet, CP-990 photos included, they gave away 30 web sites that I managed and they were getting me to train the people who replaced me.

I guess I was working with emotion when I was doing this. I am now in a much better place with much better management. Life is good.--Ron Warren

John, Would you have ever been able to say that you were finished with it? I am never satisfied. I will monkey with it until I screw it up. :^)--Ron Warren

.......there would be no doubt that I had made this. People would say I was full-o-bull if I said that I didn't have a hand in this.

Once again old man, Good show! I WILL show this to my friends and co-workers. --Ron Warren

Thanks for the compliments. Coming from someone with your skills, I'm flattered.

I took a number of graphics courses four or five years ago. My instructor was a professional typographer so emphasis was placed on typography. Couldn't do this with Photoshop then. Used Fractal Painter (ver. 5) and Illustrator 6. I only recently changed from Photoshop 4 to 6 and decided to see what could be done with type when I saw this challenge posted. Quite impressive amount of features for type.

My instructor said I would be a great Illustrator. I think she said that to everybody. What's an instructor gonna do. Say; that's the shi*s? :)

I sell a few photos now and then. This type capability opens up a whole new ballgame for sales. How bout a tree in the fog with the well known poem about a tree layered so it weaves in and out of the fog? Hmmmmmm...........?

This looked like a lot of fun, so heres me go at it.

the photo of me and my son were both taken by me at different times, so thats why the color is a little off...

Hi Nite,
Okay now everyone be kind. I never claimed to be a Graphic Artist.
(PBase may be experiencing technical difficulties today)
Judging by the input, we now know who has enough time to put stuff like this together! :)
Great job!

I personally, have always enjoyed doing this sort of thing. Too bad the competition is so stiff (people like Spielberg). Otherwise a few bucks could be earned doing same!

all right so it could have been better but here it goes anyway

I noticed on my profile today that I have been on this forum since
Wednesday, May 10, 2000 (1.5 years). Many others have posting here
for quite some time also. It's time to turn things up a notch.
Lets put what we have learned about photography and manipulation to
the test!

The challenge:

RECREATE A MAGAZINE COVER OR ADVERTISEMENT.

There are no rules except one..creativity is king! Put down the

Excellent work Al. By the way can you send me that article on incorporating your bad sunsets into magazine covers? With that information I could be rich!! Thanks for taking the time to share with us.

Hello Dave. You've done some nice work here as well. If you hadn't mentioned the color difference I'm not sure I would have noticed. I knew from an earlier post that you added part of your son's hat with photoshop but it now looks to me like you were both there for the Time Photographer. Congratulations!

Good point Rob. I for one was finishing up some vacation around the holidays so I had a bit of time to kill. I actually didn't see this challenge until several days after Nite posted it. I guess because it takes a bit of time to think of an idea and then put it together the original post was already back on page 4 before anyone was ready. By then a bunch of people never see it.

What a hoot! Hilarious! If it were anyone else I would have called this a bit politically incorrect but I know you respect their plight. My favorite feature is the text behind the head. Nice touch!

Sunset shots. grin You probably have to be a member of the DPREVIEW forums to get the inside joke. Nice text layout and good vivid colors!

David morel

Hey David...nice going. Years and years ago I used to have a comedy line that made people laugh...a charity called..."Shoes for the dead" THe shoes for the dead campaign never got off the ground but this would have been a great poster advertisement for it.LOL
