I have an A7R3 where the exposure compensation dial is sort of stuck on +.3. The dial turns fine but the value at the zero setting is actually +.3. Going lower into the negative numbers has no effect and actually goes up to +.7 & 1. Moving the dial to the positive range seems to work.

I've done a full software reset both powered and unpowered and neither had any effect.

I called Sony and they referred me to Precision Camera in CT. Their fee seems to be a flat $600 plus tax. Has anyone had this problem? Where did you get it fixed and for how much? $600+ seems a little dear to me.

Thanks.

Wild guess: Have you tried doing the unpowered reset with the dial all the way up, and see if there is any difference when you power up the camera?

Did you change EV Compensation in Menu Settings?

If so the EV Compensation Dial will be disabled until that setting is zeroed out.

I was able to resolve the issued by doing power off resets a few times. I don't know why but it eventually worked. So don't rush to repair a camera at great expense without exhausting all other strategies!

Regarding earlier comments, yes I attempted the menu settings for exposure compensation and camera resets. None of those attempts accomplished anything.

Great that it worked. Kudos for Alpha's resilience.
