A7CR - center focus

Hi

I am new to the compact cameras having only just picked up an A7CR for travel.

On my A7RV or A9iii if I want to re-center the focus target (expand spot) I hit the joystick in the middle and the focus box jumps back.

The compact body doesn't have one, and I can't find a customise button menu option to set another button to do it. Google says 'focus standard' but that is what the default d-pad middle button is set to, and just switches between joystick control and menu shortcuts.

Can anyone help with where I find the option please? Hoping I am just being blind.

The A7CR seems very impressive on initial use - the dim EVF and monitor are noticeably poorer, but I think I will adjust - but there are some strangely disruptive muscle memory changes like this focus setup that will require a bit of acclimatisation

just learnt something my self. with the af point selected just press the delete button and the af point will return to the centre

Press the centre button (Focus Standard) and you should see the 4 white arrows that let you move the focus spot around the screen, and then press the Trashcan button at the bottom right.. That will recenter the focus area.

Thank you both - The bit I was missing is that the re-center only works when you have hit the d-pad middle button to put it in focus box move mode - so I had tried all the buttons, but not hit the middle button first

That extra middle button step is going to cause me issues for a while until I adjust!

@ A74me and Coriatus: Thanks for that input as it works the same way on my A7CII.
I was unaware of this way to re-center the focus box.
