A7 iv firmware 1.05 problem

Hi, just purchased a a7 iv with is great condition with only 100 shots.

firmware is 1.01, I’ve followed the instructions to update to 1.05 can anyone

please help me I getting ‘ not correct version’

live done this procedure lots of times on Sony cameras with no issues.

Where/when are you getting the "not correct version" error?

Have you tried downloading again in case the download was corrupt?

This post contains links to both a7 IV fw 1.05 and the current fw 5.00 along with instructions of how to properly save firmware to SD card. Just remember to delete fw 1.05 firmware update from the SD card before saving fw 5.00 to the card for update. In each case the firmware update must be named BODYDATA.DAT - NOT BODYDATA-2.DAT, BODYDATA-3.DAT, etc

it was my mistake the version was 1.1, so could go to 5.00

For what it's worth, I'm having trouble updating my Sony a7R IVa. I'm carefully following the instructions in the Sony's giant manual for this camera -- format card in camera, download update, copy to card, place card in slot 1, then choose "Settings -> Version" -- but at that point, the camera doesn't offer "Body" or any other choice besides "OK", which simply returns me to "Version", with no change to version number.

The existing version is 1.10; the new update (released 2025.03.04) is "Vers. 5.00", and Sony's instructions say that's the update I should install.

DEAR SONY... YOU THERE? PLEASE HELP US, YOUR LOYAL CUSTOMERS!

Dear Wannabetoo,

There is no fw 5.00 for a7R IVa.

When Sony released a7R IVa the initial software 1.00 was fully up to date with the latest a7R IV firmware without the need to start over which means fw 1.10 is the latest - and likely final firmware.
