I have begun to notice a problem with my a610 shooting at ISO 400 where it shows vertical dashed lines on the image. This only happens on some of the images, and to various extents. I have only seen it at ISO 400. It is 27 vertical lines across the entire image. Following is a full crop of when it is at its worst. Needless to say, this has me a bit worried. Has anyone else run into this?

I've found exacty the same lines in just one photo.
It was a low light photo from a black surface in Auto mode.

In manual mode at ISO 400, I can't reproduce the problem.

This is rather strange, I sugest you contact canon customer support reporting the problem.

For European Customer support:

Press "Submit a Question" on the left menu.
You'll need to register for support (just name and e-mail).

Hi, do you still have the A620? Or did you return it and keep the 610? Any problems with 620 at iso400 other than agressive noise reduction?
Cheers,
Mike

it's maybe the shutter curtains as you can see here

... I took 6 pictures in low light and iso 400, no flash, and none of them had those lines/stripes as shown here.
Even enlarging the pictures above the 5 MP did not show anything but noise!

Hi guys. I just bought my new A610 2 days ago, and have been testing the camera extensively. Everything seems to be working perfectly except that I have seen something weird occur in 2 of my testing photos at iso 400. It's this same dashed lines that some people here who own A610 experienced. I'm sorry that I can't provide the link but the characteristic is basically exactly the same as the ones max18 posted. Again, it only appeared in 2 of my photos. After that, I tried shooting many more at iso 400 but couldn't get the lines again.

Now the question is: Is this a common thing for A610? Should I return and get a new camera? Besides this little problem, the camera seems to be operating perfectly and has no bad or dead pixels too. Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot,
Warut

Thanks a lot, soudou, for your suggestion. But I think this dashed line problem is very different from the banding issue, judging by their appearances on the picture.

Any A610 users here also experienced this dashed line problem?
