I guess Nikon must have bought these chargers cheap. I can't believe they would put a 6.5 hour charger with a prosumer camera. Seems strange to me..

Does it really take 6.5 hours to charge the battery, or is this
just how long they recommend charging a brand new battery used for
the first time? I can charge the batteries for my 880 in about 1-2
hours.
