5n - touchscreen and manual focus...

Thanks for this tip! I found the menu item to enable it, and coupled with peaking, it makes using the small Leica M lens a wonderful experience. The tiny 28mm f2.8 ASPH is particularly well suited pt the small 5n. I do wish the FDA-EV1 viewfinder was available.

I just got my 5N in the mail today, and I'm surprised how useful the touchscreen is for image magnification, as well as for reviewing images. I'm starting to wonder if this functionality may be more useful for me than having the 3 dials on the NEX-7, since I use manual lenses all of the time.

The youtube video shows auto focus flexible spot and it's great for native lenses, but it's not going to work with legacy lenses, you have to use manual focus for legacy lenses.

I agree. It really is a breeze shooting MF lenses. If the NEX 7 doesn't have this feature then Its trange that you want one?
  • no touch screen MF
  • doesn't have corner correction
  • dense 24 MP overkill sensor?
The only thing I realized from the NEX 3 to the 5N was the magnification levels changed. It used to be 7x and 14x in, now the 5N only boast 4.5x and 10x magnification :(

It seems strange to me that they never talk about any of this in the review. In fact, they talk quite a bit about how the touchscreen doesn't add any functionality.

I'm guessing that if this were a Canikon, they'd be gushing about how this lets them use their old glass, and praising Canikon for their ingenuity.

Well, maybe its because legacy lenses users on sony NEX are not officially supported or recommended by Sony but they also realized that many people do this.

Well, we don't know for sure about the corners. That's what I'm curious about. Plus, I don't think 24mp is overkill. All in all, I'd still like the built in viewfinder, rather than an appendage on top, although the tilt EVF is nice, too. Tough choice if the corner resolution ends up being ok in the 7.
