Hi guys,

I just bought the 5d mark 2, and used it on a wedding gig the past weekend. Everything went smooth mostly, performance of the unit is great. White balance quite accurate. The AF is a little slow at low light, but it's generally good. IQ is where it's at, and does not disappoint. High ISO is great.

However, there are times when I press the image review button, and the whole lcd screen just go black. And it's non responsive. I can press other button, and the camera will comply (like shutter to start taking pictures again, or menu to bring up menu).. but it just will NOT display image playback ..

and it only happens intermittently.

has anyone experienced the same???

thanks

I got the same problem. I have owned two 5d2 one time and another, and they both got this issue. not a big bug anyway.

hmm.. i have most certainly not touching any other button.. as a matter of fact.. it has happened enough of times that i don't think it's me.

and not corrupted file either... i can keep pressing it.. and eventually the lcd screen will come back to life. (esp if i press menu... and then press review again)

i am a little annoyed by it.. it's a 2700 dollars worth of camera afterall

hmm... i played with the camera more.. and after paying more attention to the DOF button.. it seems that it's not displaying the weird behavior anymore.. and i finally do notice that teh button is a lot easier to be pressed accidentally than what I recall

So seems like the internet / forum is always right... as usual

thanks for all the help
You're probably touching the DOF preview button.
