Hi

Just wondered if anyone has any gut feelings when this possible camera might be announced / released? Am looking to upgrade from a 20d to a ff model and wondered if it's worth the wait or to go for a 1dMk111 (will be using it for weddings and performing arts mainly).

Thanks!

Just go to the search function and type in 5DMKII or 5D2 or 3D or 7D or 6D or any other derivation you can think of and you'll find tons and tons and tons of wild speculation threads and gut feeling posts that will keep you busy for days or weeks.

When you're done reading all that stuff, you won't know anymore than you do now. You'll still be guessing and wondering, just like everyone else.

The long wait Canon made us for 5D replacement makes me more certain that final replacement would be revolutionary and not just evolutionary.

The 5DmkII if it would have 14-bit CMOS and 14-16MP could be easly introduced by Canon year ago. I would rather expect that Canon wait to show us this year completely new technology or make us wait another half year for 5D replacement.

Canon was completely taken by surprise by the product release from Nikon. Further, Canon has learned that it is better not to release a new model with inherent problems, as it had learned with the 1D3. Patience is a virtue.

Continue to believe that it is the skill of the photographer behind the camera, and not the camera itself which makes good images.
