20D focusing issues?

Chuck,

Sorry to hear you are not getting the results you want. Might I recommend that you post a few sample images along with EXIF data and post processing details to help illustrate what you are seeing. This will help folks give you more specific feedback.

you know, i shoot in RAW only also... so, i am not certain about the jpeg softness thing. i also post process every keeper, and am a intermediate to advanced user of PS CS2.

i'm going to hit that test tonight. ISO 800, jpeg, right? whatever my results, i'll figure out what to do.

i really am enjoying this camera and i am only doing my best to get the most from it. i thank you all for helping

I see that you posted that you are shooting raw. Have you tried manual focusing to see if you can get a precisely focused photo out of the camera, thereby proving its the focusing that's the problem?

No, that's not my middle finger....

well, i did the test and it seems as though my 20D is front focusing. with both my canon 28-135 and my 12-24 tokina...

canon calibration, here i come! :(

is there anyone who would look at the shots i took to make sure i am not hallucinating before i send this thing off to Canon?
