1/4000sec max shutter speed not enough

Nice try, but one potential use is not all uses. "huh?" can also be used in the process of learning, as a restatement of the facts to verify you understand correctly.

Ex: if someone just taught you how item A and B are related, you might say : "If A does this, then B will react in this way, huh?"

You can probably see how this interpretation might apply to the conversation I was responding to.

Was this important enough for you to wade in on in the first place?

For what it is worth (probably nothing) I took the , huh? for what it was intended.

Not quite the same application as your question , but a new twist. Interesting discussion on shooting in total darkness and manual focus and using flash to regulate shutter (simulated) speed. Setting flah output to 1/16 gives speed of 1/8000

How many of you 350D/XT owners find that the 1/4000 sec. maximum
shutter speed is not enough? I find this very limiting everytime I
shoot outdoors (bright condition), wide-open aperture (e.g. F/1.8
for smoothest bokeh), and ISO 100. Status on the VF notifies of
this situation and the picture comes out overexposed. Stopping down
the lens is not a good workaround cause it reduces the bokeh
quality. I think Canon should have upped the max shutter speed to
1/8000 seconds or provided ISO 50 at least.

Yes, Tri X and HP4 - I think you could push Tri X a bit more succesfully - and I seem to remember HPS (800 ASA?).
