Lens wish list

How about a 0.67 VR Focal Reducer? We could get our original focal lengths back and add VR at the same time! I'd pay up to $500 for that...

What lenses do you want to see made by Nikon?

My zoom desires:

24-105 f/2.8 AFS VR (with macro)

70-300 f/4 AFS VR

80-400 f/4 AFS VR

I'd pay twice as much to make sure I get it before anyone else !
... if it was possible to make one that is...

my best guess is it's impossible to do it, otherwise it wouldn't be an add-on, it would straight be included as part of the body

From my memory, the old E3 DSLR has the same design build in to the body, offcouse missing the VR, but you will loose a couple of F stop.

If they don't make a FF D2x, I would like Nikon to make a switchable mode from the next D2X like the E3, if you want 0.67x, just press a botton, I can accept loosing one F-stop for using this function. If Nikon can really do this, no one will complain why Nikon doesn't make FF DSLR.

I agree!! AF-S everything!

Seriously, I like the 70-300ED as a daytime walking-around candid lens that doesn't weigh 3+ pounds and stick out like a hand cannon. AF-S is long overdue across the entire line, and the 70-300 could really use it. A VR version would also be an excellent idea, but that might make it longer and definitely add some weight.

With liquid lens technology I think a 10-1000mm F 1.2 with the best optical quality can be possible one day. Of course this lens would be set in glasses or even in a cell phone with a digital full frame sensor. It could also be a lens which wouldn't be bigger then the 50mm as we know it.

Am I dreaming too much? I think the future is now with this scary liquid lens technology. Who would've thought, 50 years ago, that one day we'd be communicating so effectively just by sitting in front of a box (computer)?
