I think you might have to just crop in post (and resample if desired).A question: Is there digital zoom in R50 and R10 when the zoom limit of the lens is reached?
I have been using Canon compacts for years and I am used to using digital zoom.
Thanks
Neat. Does it still retain all of the Subject Detect/ AF Tracking goodies?Yes there is on the R50 which I own. Don't use it though but did try it and it was better than I thought it would be but it's not great .
Sorry R2 I’ve no idea . I briefly fired few test shots on day one of owning it . Checked them out on the computer and as I stated earlier they were better than expected but they were still not of a standard that I’d be happy with so never used it again. That was back in April so I have no recollection of how the camera responded at the time .Neat. OK, thanks for the info. Not as useful as it could be, unfortunately.Just checked the digital zoom and it can only be used with jpeg. Subject detection is enabled but AF area selection is disabled so that’s about as much use as a Chocolate teapot .

Well if you have any "sitting ducks" around, mebbe give it a try! ;-)I have never tried on my R10 because I thought (perhaps mistakenly) that digital zoom was for video only.
