Digital zoom in R50 and R10

A question: Is there digital zoom in R50 and R10 when the zoom limit of the lens is reached?

I have been using Canon compacts for years and I am used to using digital zoom.

I think you might have to just crop in post (and resample if desired).

I've often wished that my R7 had a Crop Mode, if only to improve subject detection and autofocus.

Yes there is on the R50 which I own. Don't use it though but did try it and it was better than I thought it would be but it's not great .

Sorry R2 I’ve no idea . I briefly fired few test shots on day one of owning it . Checked them out on the computer and as I stated earlier they were better than expected but they were still not of a standard that I’d be happy with so never used it again.That was back in April so I have no recollection of how the camera responded at the time .

Just checked the digital zoom and it can only be used with jpeg. Subject detection is enabled but AF area selection is disabled so that’s about as much use as a Chocolate teapot .

After 12months of owning the R10 I didn't know the facility existed at all.

A quick look at the manual confirms it's only for certain video modes.
