Focus peaking in magnified view?

I'm sure this isn't possible simply because it seems to not be the default when focus peaking is on. When I have focus peaking on, I see the color guides during manual focusing fine, but if I magnify the view using the mag glass 🔎 button to 5x and 10x, I don't see color aids. Is there a way to turn that on during a magnified view?

Using R6 Mark II, but I'm sure I saw the R7 behaves in the same way.

I'm just not overly confident in my ability to visually achieve perfect manal focus yet, so the aids are helpful.

Thanks ☕

I think the last Canon camera with focus peaking in magnified Live View was the M100. It definitely showed up the fact that the DPAF focuses only on vertical boundaries when in landscape orientation, so that could be why Canon dropped the feature. The magic match-triangles focussing aid works extremely well, I use it a lot with my EOS R. The only snag is that the camera needs to know that a lens is attached, so it only works with RF, RF-S, EF, EF-S lenses or adapted lenses if you have a chipped EF adapter for the lens.

The best you can do is to use single spot AF with no servo.

Do an AF, then x6 and use manual focus. I use that very often in macro and with my 100-400, assuming that there is time

I just wish that magnified view was persistent through the entire series of shots (ie until turned OFF). This would be especially helpful for macros!
