Sony A7C II vs A7CR vs A7R V at a given price point

Weight was a big consideration for me so I got the A7cR over the A7R V. As for the megapixels, I find myself shooting in APSC mode half the time and the ability to switch from 61MP to 26MP quickly is great for my purposes. The A7C II wouldn't cut it resolution wise for me in APSC mode.

Yes, it’s like you are getting 2 camera bodies : 1 FF with 61 MP and an APSC with 26MP. That’s what is pulling me towards higher MP.

Same thing with the A7CII, though. You get 14.5mp in crop mode, which is pretty good.

You can further crop 26MP to 11MP. So, with A7CR, you can get 61MP, 26MP, and 11MP.

5x7 feet. how many prints have you printed this big

I've never had a printer that large but now when I think about it, I've had billboards printed of my photos, taken with a large format film camera. I've seen billboards made from 35mm but that didn't make us throw away our 4x5's and 8x10's.

It depends on the purpose, especially the distance from which it will be viewed.

I sell landscape prints up to about 1 metre on the longest side. You can see the difference between those taken with my older cameras and those with newer higher mgp. This isn't the reason I want a 60mgp sensor. I want it for the cropping ability.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions and feedback. I went to a store to check out physical differences between RV and CR. I have picked up a RV based on my little time spent in store playing with both the cameras. It’s the feature set of RV that had me pick it. I didn’t find the size intimidating. Yes, it’s larger than CR but I had to pick one camera of these and went with RV.
