Isn't it weird that there's no "nifty fifty" for EOS M?

Surprised nobody has mentioned adapting the EF 50 f/1.8 STM. It’s a gem, too, granted at 2.8… for the price anyways.
Having to stop down to f2.8 on crop is not a gem

the siggy 56 f1.4 used wide open is the gem
Not surprising, when it costs nearly 4x as much.
Life is short

don’t settle for less
And why settle for an M body and the 56/1.4 when life is short and you should be using an R3 with an RF 85/1.2L. :-)

Everyone has a different budget. For some, adapting the Canon 50/1.8 STM is the best option within their budget. For others, it's the old Sigma 60/2.8. For others, it's the Sigma 56/1.4. And for yet others it's the RF 85/1.2L.

It's great that we have all of these options. Each has its place.

Regards,

Alan

Or what you can do with one hand at the controls.

The controls on a M6II with a 7artisans Photoelectric 35mm f/0.95 Lens for Canon EF-M are all easy to use with just the right hand.

Can't say that about a lot of zooms.

under your budget context, u see a justification

but from my view, too often I see folks spilling money, and then spending even more by overlapping and upgrading, when They would have done better with the right gear in the first place, even if it meant to wait while they were saving

a lot of times this is lack of experience on the existing options

Alan

Much more versatile, much slower, bigger and heavier than the adapted 50mm and nearly four times the price. The 32mm is effectively the APS-C equivalent to the FF nifty fifty, usably half a stop faster, though nominally half a stop slower (when taking equivalency into account) and still nearly 4x the price.

I like your gear list ! :)

My RP has the 100L stuck on it !

You can use the great 18-150 lens.
Covers every focal length mentioned in this thread! 😁

R2
Is it able to resolve good enough in combination with the 32MP sensor of the M6ii?
It's the right tool for what I use it for.

R2
Us spoiled M users like the sharp stuff for sure. Every EF-M lens is better off on a M6II though ?

A sharp Sigma 30mm f/1.4 for the Canon EF-M mount is just a little over $200 used in like new condition ? For real ? :)

Love my Siggys too!

For me what sets the M6ii apart is the crazy good autofocus (not necessarily the MP).

Right ? And the buttons and the 3 dials and the touch of silver on the top ? :)

I sleep with it next to me. :)

You could sell that lens for more than you paid for it ? :)

The 100L is up about $200 !

Sick that I did not click when the RF24-105L was cheap. I saw the sale too. Had the money. Sick.

Sometimes go to sleep looking at my M6II with the 32mm on it and have this fantasy that the 32mm is my only lens, the only one I want, the only one I need.

But I wake up and reality takes over and I realize the 11-22mm is also needed ! :)

Well yeah, that too. Plus the 32 MP, plus the super-responsive operation, plus the tilting LCD, plus... :-D
