Yes, nicely done - lifting the eye area out of the shadows and retaining the color/saturation of the yellow breast (although that might just be the side-effect of removing blue cast)

April/20 - Earth Day
very nice VT; your shots always seems to pop off the page.

is this the result of camera settings or perhaps in post? i am trying to get mine a little better and hope to post a few soon as the weather warms.

Thanks.

First the subject has to be eye-popping...

Then, kind of both - other than the normally advised -5 NR and -5 Sharp - I use Vivid color scene - since I know I am shooting flowers etc. Panasonics seem to do Vivid well (eg: much better than FujiFilm's "vivid"/Velvia.)

and, it's mostly post - nothing fancy in either process or editor - use brightness and contrast in concert, then increase contrast until it looks over-done - back that off until it looks more natural - scientifically it's: can vary from day to day or my mood...

you seem to find plenty of subject down south, even in the middle of january.

those settings help. the scene controls are interesting but i mostly use PP; i am still learning the controls on the FZ70. it is starting to come down to: what is this button for, ;-)

had a problem last sunday with over exposure, out of frustration i tried the trash button, .... it doubles as the 'Q menu', well there it was, plus a few stops preset of over exposure in aperture priority. it seemed like the camera was broken as the photos had all of their highlights blown out.......maybe i am starting to figure out these little bridge cameras are better than i thought.

i use photoshop elements, but more for subtle color correction. there is probably better photo software and i may just look for some.

Yeah, thanks. It wasn’t a side effect of that, but then I realized the saturation was gone so I added it just in the yellow Chanel.
