I bought a used GRIII in 2020, and after few month the common rear wheel issue appeared. I jumped into A7III last year and I sold the GR for a bit lower price I purchased, because of the issue. Recently I'm considering to purchase a street edition, because the A7III is too big carry around, and the GrIII was a nice little fun to use camera, and pocetable.

Are there any information Ricoh fixed the rear wheel in latest models?

I wish in GR4 they add more durability, and easier disassembly to clean the sensor also would welcome. I disassembled my GR1 once, and it was about 30 min work, but I think GRIII is far more difficult as I saw.

I have a GRIII and no issues with the rear wheel. I think it could have a better tactile feel to it but no real issues. Too plasticky in my opinion.

I bought a new GR111 March 2021 and by the end of the year the year wheel was having issues. I've had to move ISO control over to adj as it became impossible to set using the wheel. I love the camera but I'm concerned at the long term durability

Ricoh will always (to my knowledge) warranty a wobbly scroll wheel if within the warranty period. Whether newer manufactured GRiii still have the problem...I am not sure. Ricoh did post serial numbers for ones they knew had a production problem...

As far as disassembly.... I do not believe there is a modern pocketable fixed lens camera that can be easily disassembled. Not Ricoh, Fuji, Nikon, Canon. It is a risk everyone takes when purchasing one, and there are posts on different sites concerning sensor dust on almost every manufacturers fixed lens pocketable cameras.

Exactly the same here after about 2 years using the GRIII a lot.

Thanks for replies, I probably order a GRIII street edition.

Almost identical to my experience! Tried various things such as rotating the wheel for a minute etc and still no fix!
