I have a Z6II and have just bought a Z7II. To simplify things can I tansfer my user settings saved to a card from one to the other? I think maybe not (the NCSET007.BIN file contains 'Z6 2') but it would save me quite a bit of time if it's possible. One quick yay or nay will do thanks.

Nay; is my understanding. Stay Safe!

I haven’t done this. Maybe save the current settings from each camera, compare the two files and decide? I don’t know if they are JSON or XML or binary …

I think you're right Tom. Thanks for your reply; I'll try when the new body arrives but I expect I'll have to do a manual job there. A good opportunity to review a few settings I guess. All the best.

I don't think you can. While the menu system is mostly the same, I think there is other data that is stored in the settings file that the other camera probably can't interpret and thus the settings file cannot be read by the other camera (ex. Z6 II setting file cannot be read by a Z7 II, and vice-versa).

I mean it would be nice if you could save common settings that are common to both to a file (such as User mode settings, or other "generic" settings like those found most of the menus, which both cameras share; would make resetting and setting up my camera go a bit faster if I had to do a factory reset--I'd only have to do it one time).

That stinks, since they are similar enough to share the same manual.
