Its funny I just picked up the RF 16 STM and found out the RF 50mm STM lens hood fits like a glove. Ideally I should cut/grind the lens hood down about 2-3mm and it will work just fine on both lenses. No vignetting.

So if you already have the 50mm hood just give it a go. In video with 4k60 no issues since it crops in. Also if you have the digital stabilization then you are also good.

I have the 50mm hood and it does fit. I thought about buying another one for the 16mm but since the aftermarket hoods are so cheap I just waited for one to turn up on Amazon.

Thanks, I just ordered one. As others have pointed out, the listing explicitly says it does not include a cap.

Also at checkout, I had the option of paying $26 for shipping or waiting until Dec 17th to Jan 10th to get it with free shipping. I was not going to pay 2x in shipping what the part cost.

No big deal but as a not to others.
I re-read it, and, yes, just the hood is what you get. I read it wrong the first time. No matter, all I really want is the hood. I noticed it was a direct ship from China, but that's fine with me. To save $20 on the hood makes it worthwhile, plus I don't think the OEM hood is even available anywhere.

I bought a replacement battery door for my RP, which was direct shipped from China, with a delivery date expected to be Dec. 9th-17th. I got it last week. Shrug. It will get here when it gets here.

For fellow Canadians - Amazon Canada has stocks at the moment with one day delivery for prime customers. It is CAD 19. Only the hood and a freebie micro fibre cloth which seems to get bundled in almost everything camera related these days 🙂

Evidently, they don't need to ship it from China.

Really strange. I think there is more than one seller. I just saw that they had one for prime shipping so I ordered it and canceled the one on the slow boat. I should get it in a few days.

I got the pedal type lens hood for RF 50mm which works on 16mm without vignetting, I suspect they probably got hold of this design somehow in advance.

I don't know. JCC is the brand, which is the same brand I have bought many aftermarket hoods. However it works, the hood gets here Monday, which is ok by me!

Is this identical to the 50mm hood in size? (This appears to be the only one available on Amazon.de)

No, they aren't identical. The 50mm hood is based on Canon ES-65B which is a circular hood. The 16mm is based on Canon EW-65C which is a petal hood. It is also slightly shallower at deepest point, which is perhaps why the other poster mentioned grinding. Their connecting mechanism is identical size, since both 16mm and 50mn lenses have same outer body

OK, I finally found on Amazon.de the 16mm one, which is indeed cutaway as expected. Cost €14.99 plus €5.52 delivery (Dec 2).

Whether the sun will be shining again here in Austria by then is a good question. :-)

Thanks for the heads up.

I just got mine delivered a moment ago. Tried it on both 16mm and 50mm RF lenses. Works fine. No vignetting on either lens. Fits well. Snaps in place.
