Hi there,

I have just picked up a new GRIII.

Unfortunately, I have a disability, so I have to use it with a wired shutter release cable.

I'm just wondering if anyone can please tell me if they have used a wireless shutter release for the Ricoh GRIII? If there was one available it would be really beneficial.

I saw this one from a previous dpreview thread, but I'm not based in Canada (I'm in the UK) and I'm dubious if it really works with the GRIII, as there is no other documentation or reference to it. But I'd love to be proved wrong!

Please let me know if you have used this or a different one.

Thank you.

Do you have a smart phone? You can control a GRIII through the Image Sync App.

Thank you for your reply. I really appreciate it.

I do have a smartphone, but the image Sync app is currently unavailable on Android. (I checked on the Ricoh website)

Also, I am looking for something smaller and more ergonomic than my phone, that looks like a proper shutter release, as I will be using the shutter release one-handed.

The Image sync app is available for Android OS 9.0~11.0.

Look also for Pentax CA-3 Remote Shutter Release for GR Series.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

I can't find the app on the Pkay store, and on the website it says It is currently unavailable.

2021.11.02"Notice of stopping the distribution of the Image Sync (Android)"
Currently, Image Sync of Android version has temporary stopped the distribution and cannot be downloaded.
We are now working on for redistribution we appreciate for your patience.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

The CA-3 is wired, unfortunately.

What about interval shooting mode?

Hi, did you find any solution?

iphone has this accessibility option where you can initiate a screen touch by saying recorded words. So if you open the app and set the word “shutter” so that the iphone clicks where the shutter button is on the screen - you could release shutter just by saying it (assuming the app is open).

im sure android has similar accessibility functions

cheers

Thank you for this. I haven't found a solution yet but I will definitely look into what you have told me.
