Slide vs Slide Lite

Thoughts on Peak Design Slide vs Slide Lite for a Z6 ii, where my current heaviest lens is a 24-70 2.8 S?
For reference, Slide Lite is about the same width as the Nikon Z strap (maybe 1-2 millimeters smaller).

I have both Slide and Slide Lite. I am using Slide together with the Z6 + 200-500 (about 3kg), and recently bought Slide lite, because I find Slide is just too much for lighter and smaller lenses like the 24-70 4.0S and 35 1.8S. The 24-70 2.8S is somewhere in between so either could work. Depends on your usage, for heavy usage Slide is more comfortable, for casual usage, Slide Lite is less cumbersome.

Slide Lite will work fine. It’s my go-to strap with my 24-70 f4

I have regular Slide too which I use with my heavier lens.

Enjoy!

One thing to note is that the Slide has some relatively thin internal padding at the neck area where the silicone grippers are. I use this with the Z6 and 24-70 2.8S and it is very comfortable while hiking.

The Slide Lite has no internal padding but works fine with lighter lenses.

I went with the slide lite for my Z6, thin and durable, love the material it's made out of because it's easy to go from my hip to my eye.

Do you ever wear the Slide around your neck? If so, does it feel a bit bulky or stiff because of its width and padding?

I have the Slide Lite for my Z6. I always use it cross-body, from left shoulder to right hip. It's very comfortable that way, even with a 70-300 AF-P. I use the left eyelet and a bottom plate for strap connections, so the lens is pointing down and the hand grip is easy to reach.

When I got it, I tried using it around my neck. But I don't like how the camera bounces around as I walk. It's a lot more stable on my hip.

For hiking with two trekking poles and a day pack, I shorten the strap so I can put the camera around my belt line in front, still diagonal from my left shoulder. It doesn't interfere with the poles this way. I tried this with the strap around my neck, and the camera was swinging all over when I'd step over rocks. That didn't work.

I have both, along with the Leash. I actually use the Leash more than either Slide. But if I had to pick between the two Slides, my vote would go for the Slide Lite as the Slide is overkill for a Z and the 24-70mm.

I have both and I use the slide lite for almost everything, from my X100V (until I got the even smaller strap) up to my 70-200E or 500 PF. I use the Slide only for something like a 70-200E or 500 PF when the Slide Lite is with my 35 S or 24-200.

I have the Peak Design Slide and I like it ok comfort wise (I haven't tried the Slide Lite). I do find having to use the hex wrench to attach the anchor mount to be tedious.

My favorite camera strap is the Luma Loop 3.5 with the Universal Mount

I usually don't wear it around my neck. The padding is very thin - just enough to give it some softness when you wear it cross-body. But I'd say that if you are going to wear it around your neck the Slide lite is comfortable enough without the extra padding.

Which I can really recommend is the Peak Design Capture Camera Clip V3.

After buying two of the V3 clips, one for the shoulder strap of my

Gitzo backpack and one for my belt, my Slide Lite is redundant.

I discovered the Peak Design Capture Camera Clip V3 after purchasing the Slide Lite and i absolutely love and prefer it compared to the Slide Lite.

At least with my Z lenses, Z MC 105mm is the biggest, heaviest one, it works great.

I've used both the Slide and the Light. The light is perfect for the Z system. I used the Slide for my D850 with grip. I also have the thinner one (leash ? ) that I use with my Nikon 1 system. I think the Slide would be my choice for the gripped Z6II.

I did order the Z branded Light from Hunt's and it's pretty nice.

The slide lives permanently attached to my 200-500mm and the slide light handles the Z bodies with 24-70 and other native lenses plus the 70-300mm AF-P and 105mm f28 F mount lenses. I also have a leash that is just grand with the Z50 and it's kit lenses.

I had a V2 capture clip for my daypack. It worked great with a tiny LX100 camera. But the Z6 with the 24-70 f/4 is way too heavy. That side of the day pack slides down too much. It sortof works with some weight in the daypack and a full water bottle on the other side of the pack, but not with just a jacket and lunch in the pack.

I don't have a waist strap or a collarbone connector strap between the pack straps to help stabilize it. A pack with those features work work, like your camera pack does.

IMO, Slide Lite would be more than enough, I actually use Slide Leash with my Z7II + 24-70 f2.8S and also when the 70-200 f2.8S or 500 f5.6PF is attached.

I just purchased the Slide Lite last week to accompany my Cuff Strap. I personally would not want anything bigger than the "Lite"... I actually wish there were a size between the Leash and the Lite.

It is very well made and I use it both on my small PGYTech OneMo bag and on the camera if I need it (I swap it off my Cuff Strap). Very versatile, looks great in Black/Red with the Nikon.
