What's your favorite song, or a song you like with lyrics related to photography? Listed by performing artist or songwriter. I'll start the list off with a few favorites of my own:

Kraftwerk: the Model

Paul Simon: Kodachrome

Duran Duran: Girls on Film

For me it's Kodachrome.

Def Leppard: Photograph

Paul McCartney and Wings: Biker Like an Icon - (Lyrics stemmed from a conversation with his wife Linda about liking Leica or liking Nikon. Biker is just literary license to build a song around, but the last part read Leica Nikon.

The Cure: Pictures of You

J Geils Band: Centerfold

I wondered, "How many songs have 'camera' or 'photo' in their lyrics?"

As it turns out, quite a few:

I would say Paul Simon with Kodachrome, but honestly, Deborah Harry is more pleasant to look at.

This is the way that one girl made me feel that time I photographed her. :)

Girls on Film, Duran Duran. (That's why my video copy was 18 rated.)

Blondie, Picture This

Having my Picture Taken, Boom Town Rats

I can't think of any others.

"Picture Book" by The Kinks

My wife suggests:

Pictures of Lily, The Who

Rod Stewart: Every Picture Tells a Story

Okay, mine are very, very . . . very loosely connected with photography.

"Borderline" by Madonna. I know it's not about photography, but every time I hear this song, I think of the white border on an 8x10 glossy black-and-white photo. The music video of this song did show multiple photoshoots and Madonna going through some photos.

"Dirty Laundry" by Don Henley. It's a critique about the evening news, which of course, in the old days was shot on film. IMHO, one of the greatest songs ever written.

Go ahead and flame me; I know, I know, they're both a stretch when trying to relate to photography. :-)

Another one: "If" by Bread. ("If a picture paints a thousand words, then why can't I paint you?")
