Hi-

I am trying to find an online store that will discreetly print my nude photographs. Does anyone know of any? I searched and came up empty.

Regards,
Norman Allen

I'd rather not make this investment at this time. In the next year or so (until business gets going), I would rather oursource my printing. Are there any online places that you know of?
Ummm, maybe you should get a good photo printer if you don't have
one, and print that yourself.

I am getting into the large format Proto Printing services business. We just purchased Epson 9600, which is capable of printing up to 44" wide roll on a wide variety of papers. If interested - drop me a note.
I'm in Canada.

No online servise will print nudes... you have to do it yoursefl or find a local studio that will which will cost bucks and they will want release forms etc.

Hi Norman,
When the last poster wrote that nobody does this I had to reply...

I have used this lab on several occasions. They have an Epson 9600 so they can print large sizes as well. The quality has always been good. Somebody also said you need releases, this is nonsense. The only caveat is that they will not print anything which appears to be with a model which is underage. Here's the link:

The site has the complete price list. There are lots of others and even my local "professional" camera store has sent lots of my photos to Kodak which included topless shots and a little more without a problem. I would just go with PFS Photo.

We don't ask for any release forms and we won't charge higher prices because of "nudity". The only exception is that models must be 18+ or whatever is legal age in your state or country. Our prices are in Canadian dollars.

I just find that hard to believe.

Check out the back of the photo magazines and even some of the adult magazines. Many ads offered "discrete photo processing." I have to imagine that some of them are working in the digital age and offer prints from digital files. If not, I'll be putting together a business plan on Monday.

I've had nude shots printed by Shutterfly with no problems. I just checked their policy, and I quote:

"Under these Terms, you may NOT place any of the following material or obtain any such material using the Service:
  • Any threatening, obscene, pornographic or profane material or any other material that could give rise to any civil or criminal liability under applicable law. Shutterfly recommends you use an "adult-content" warning label when pictures are being shared that include legal adult content; "
I'm not a legal expert by any means, but this language seems to have been carefully crafted to allow the upload/printing of adult content as long as it is legal.

That said, you could always contact the customer service department of any of the online printing services and ask them what they deem acceptable. I've also had the same nude shots printed at PhotoJo, DotPhoto, and Snapfish. (I was having test shots printed from several services to see which had the best print quality; Shutterfly won that particular contest.)

Hi Kathleen-

This sounds just like what I'm looking for. None of my photos are illegal, so Shutterfly might just work. Thank you so much for your reply.

To clarify(just trying to get a consensus)...Pornography is pretty much defined as explicit pictures of sex and stuff like that right? But shots of nudity (no hanky-panky going on) are ok? I just want to know what people's general perception of pornography is (and what it's not).

Hehe. If it was just that simple. In the U.S., "pornography" is left to be defined by the "community standards" of where you live. Try and figure that one out when your pictures involve a world-wide Internet. Some countries say "everything goes" as long as you don't show genitalia. Other's say a woman showing an ankle or any part of the face other than the eyes in public earns the death penalty. In New York City, a woman can walk the streets topless as long as its not for the purpose of erotic display ("I was just walking my dog when someone spilled that honey and milk down my chest"). Even your "legal" pictures, when transmitted to a service in another state, could be construed as illegal interstate commerce.

See how silly it gets?

Don't worry about it. I'm sure a couple of nudie glamour shots of your wife are gonna fall well below the radar of ANYONE'S interest. I wouldn't worry about protesters lining up on your lawn or the FBI breaking down your door in the middle of the night.

Still laughing.......but, does your wife KNOW about the nude shots? Or are they of her? If they're of her, PLEASE go and buy yourself a photo printer! If they're not of her, you have an unusually understanding wife. K.
