Hi:

I use my phone mostly to take pictures of buildings in cities in good light. I appreciate the ultrawide feature of my current Samsung S10, but having more resolution than 16 MP would be really nice.

Before the OnePlus 8 Pro was released, their CEO released some ultrawide images of a city at night (with comparison ?iPhone images) that showed the benefits of the 48 MP ultrawide camera.

Now that the phone has been released and reviewed, I've been unable to find full 48 MP images online for download in reviews of the camera. Images are usually presented at 12 MP.

I'd really like to see some daylight ultrawide sample images at 48 MP. Something like the CEOs images, but in daylight.

Can anyone point to a review or site that has such samples for download?

Thanks so much, RB

I can probably get you.

Ultra wide angle , daylight, non binned. Correct?

Yes thank you so very much.

Not binned. If possible, any shot with buildings, rather than nature (but either is OK).

The pictures released by OnePlus CEO included an city scape, and then blowups of parts of that scene that seemed to show very impressive detail.

Anything in that ballpark would be wonderful.

[BTW did another search yesterday without finding anything comparable. The ultrawide image on DXOmark (of a building) didn't seem to be compatible with the impressive picture from the CEO.

I asked my friend to take photos and send me. I'll update once I have it/them.

The ones from the stock app are terrible, but with GCAM are almost like main camera good!!!

I guess you don't need it anymore since gsmarena has full size ultra wide angle samples?

Hi:

No I guess I no longer need them. I had looked at the gsmarena review and somehow missed the full resolution samples.

Very interesting dilemma now! The 8 Pro costs $1300 Canadian right now. I always brought a phone rather than camera to urban areas thinking it was less likely to be taken from me than a camera. I now wonder if a 16 mm Sony with an Ultra Wide Converter (both together maybe $500 Canadian used on ebay), on a a5000 (20 MP) might be a preferred option.

Another dilemma is that perhaps I can expect much better results using gcam.

Thank you again for offering to take some samples.

Does this happen in Canada? Really? That's surprising..

But then you need to carry it, which for me is annoying , doesn't matter how small it is.
It's just not as easy as carrying a phone. You don't take it anywhere like your phone. Go for the phone.

Yes, 100% you can expect much better results with gcam.. but.. only binned resolution.
Thank you again for offering to take some samples.
