I have an 80d and just purchased the Canon 100-400 L II. Holy cow! I used the 55-250 kit lens before so this is a monster. Love it!

Now my backpack that I have been using doesn't fit my camera with the 100-400 attached. I would like to get something that will hold the 80D with the 100-400 attached with the tripod mount on the lens as I use a tripod a lot.

I prefer the backpack variety better, don't really like the sling type. Personal preference. I've seen some of the Lowepro ones but I'm not sure which ones will be long enough to hold my camera and lens.

Thank you for any advice. I've been gone a long time, had a 450D. Nice to be back.

I have the Lowe Pro Flipside 200AW & 400 AW. That body and lens will fit in both. The 200 will leave you a little room for a couple smaller lenses or whatever else you want. Obviously, the 400 will hold much more.
