The EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM is an inexpensive 'kit' zoom for Canon's APS-C SLRs. Announced alongside the EOS 100D / Rebel SL1 and EOS 700D / Rebel SL1, it's designed to complement the Hybrid AF system found on these cameras, and features a Stepper Motor for silent autofocus during video recording. It uses an internal focus design, and offers electronically-driven full-time manual focus.
