Good workhorse camera still in 2020, if you do not need non-cropped 4K video and the very latest tech. I love Canon's colors, JPEGs have a real film-like look just out of the camera, no need to post-process with special film simulations. Handling with the touch screen is super easy and fast, face-recognition in LV works great.

There are only a few drawbacks that are minor for me personally: phase AF is not always as reliable as the impressively performing LV DPAF when you shoot e.g. EF f/1.2 lenses wide open in low light; and a typical Canon swivel screen would be really great.

Have had my 5DIV for over a year now and love it. I can’t see myself getting rid of this one to trade for something else. Going to stay in my collection.

This combination has created some fantastic images for me :)

I would disagree with your "action/sports" 3-star evaluation. About the only thing they need are more fps for fast action, like fielding action in baseball. The autofocus and low light abilities are phenomenal. So, four stars for me.

That said, I'd place the 5D IV as the finest mid-level pro camera ever made, that includes Nikon and Sony lineup.

Gotta give the 1D flagship bodies the nod for the best, of course, even though they have lower megapixels.

I love mine have the 6D2 as well both excellent and love the simplicity of the menu system and canon colour, whats not to like. Also the ability to crop as well.

Alan.
Great photography is about depth of feeling, not depth of field.

Well I was conservative since some people today expect more fps because many ML system cameras now are really fast. In fact, I used my old 5D3 besides my 7D2 for action (mostly birding) until recently and was overall happy with its 6 fps only. So, maybe I should change my action rating to 4 stars, thanks for making me rethink that rating.

nice blue tit shot, Alan.

Greetings from a birder

I discovered that I cannot change my star ratings here...
