That is what I want. It is the FL I love on a crop camera.

Yes there is the 16/1.4, but it is heavy. For low light I don't really below f2.8 due to narrow DOF.

I use the EFS 10-18 currently on DSLR, but want a bit brighter and hopefully better IQ wide open.

IS would be a bonus but not must have.

well the 11-22 is sharper than the 10-18 and a little faster ...its at F5 at 15mm the 10-18 is at F5.6 ..granted its not F2.8

sony has a 16mm f2.8 but its terrible..your 10-18 will be better

fuji has i believe only has an F1.4 at 16mm

so the choice is yours that's it on APS-c ...unless you don't need AF

That is right about choices which is why I hesitate on the M6 vs. a full frame. There is a missing range of wider EFM/EFS primes from Canon.

I do want a usable f2.8 or faster.

Currently I carry both the 10-18 and the Sigma 15/2.8 fisheye when on overnight trips.

A 15/2.8 rect would replace both. 10-15mm is the range I used most on APSC.

Fuji also has a much smaller and cheaper weather sealed 16mm f/2.8

i was thinking that you may pop in...and save me checking...that's why i put "i believe"

i know sony has no new wide APS-c primes as they have not had any new APS-c lenses for 4 or 5 years apart from a standard zoom some time back and the latest 2 that just shipt

Fuji has a nice collection now

Personally, I see Fuji's biggest gap at this time is something like a 70-300mm to slot between the 55-200mm f/3.5-4.8 and 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6. A prime wider than the 14mm f/2.8 would be nice too. After the launch of the monster 200mm f/2.0, there have been some calls for longer telephoto primes, but I would view these as more niche lenses.

yes ...i suppose they will alway be gaps as technology moves on and older lenses fall behind like the slow AF in the 56 f1.2 etc ....the Canon EF mount is now over 30 years old and it still has gaps like the 50F1.4 is way overdue but it probably won't be replaced

mind you i think the 50 1,4 is not as bad as some think.i think it often low contrast wide open and dodgy AF as much as anything

That looks great, but I only can find a that lens in Fuji mount. Is there an adapter?

yes ...a XT-30 would work well
That is not very helpful. Why is a lens that doesn't work with the M6ii being suggested? After my initial excitement that there was a potentially perfect option I spend about 20min searching for what was being referenced. Wasted my time.

For a number of years, the EF 50mm f/1.4 was my go to portrait lens for crop. The AF was totally unreliable on my 70D, but fine on my M cameras. Well, not the M3, the AF is unusable on the M3, but great on the other M cameras. It was so soft and foggy wide open that I basically considered it an f/2.0 lens, but it is still better than any of the f/1.8 versions.

daveV8 listed the 16mm lenses that are available across all systems, not just Canon M. I am assuming it was to provide some perspective and illustrate that what you are seeking is not really available anywhere.

That great. I know it is not that common, but the Fuji lens does prove it is available elsewhere. That with a EFS/M mount would be perfect.

FWIW, 14mm on Canon APS-C is pretty close to 15mm on other APS-C cameras.

That (14mm) would be the focal length I'd be most interested in for a prime WA.
