prior Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt thread was from close seats.

This one was from row N in the orchestra at NJPAC

This Giant Ball starts low, and is raised up into the ceiling. I will not sit under it.

I love these light fixtures lighting the wood panels everywhere

Ravel to Open, partial orchestra, it was alright, bit sleepy, got their fingers loosened up.

Beethoven's 4th, Jeffrey Kahane, Piano (everyone loved him but me)

Shostakovich #1 Out came the full Orchestra, all the horns, more Cello's (8), more upright bass (6). And, the same piano sounded so much better, played by it's owner who knows it's touch. Proves it was not the piano, but the player. I'm such a PITA, but .... ear this.

Oh Yeah,

The forward tilting chair again

My brother's wood chair, the rear of the seat rises, but the back does not follow, whereas, this method, the back comes forward when it rises.

Looks like another one that I would like to have attended.

Not just the performance. NJPAC is a gorgeous design, (way the heck over budget and way behind schedule, but who remembers?),

and the acoustics are terrific. The big theater for this performance seats 2800 people. I've been all over the place, near/far/up/dn/side box ... always great sound, and I am very picky. As I said, the orchestra pianist played that piano better than the featured soloist.

They have another small theater, Victoria, seats 500, my favorite, and a performance room I have never seen.

I became a member so I get early notices of shows and can jump on the tickets. Best is Victoria Theater Front Row Balcony. The show I posted was not planned, a friend suddenly had 2 spare tickets.
