Hello, my p900 have a problem black screen..

Have you ever had this problem?

Thank you

Are you sure your battery is fully charged? Once battery is fully charged, try taking the battery out, wait at least one minute, put battery back in. If you have a second battery, try that battery also (make sure it's fully charged).

..if you can see things through the electronic viewfinder, but not on the LCD display of your P900 camera..

..then it could be the ribbon from the camera to the LCD display is faulty..

..you may be able to contact Nikon and ask them for a repair price quote..

..Best wishes..

P900 has a button which sets the LCD/viewfinder configuration. Pressing it rotates through the options, and, if I recall correctly, one of the settings is to disable the LCD altogether.

I would start from checking this setting. From my own experience I know that sometimes the most obvious things can be missed.

The lcd and the viewfinder are black.

Thank you for this answer

Happy new year
..With both the lcd and viewfinder being dark is not good..

..try taking a few random pictures, and see if the camera can capture images to the memory card, and see if can view the pictures on the computer..

..this is to test if the camera is functioning..

..and wishing you Happy New Year too my friend..

Do you mean you don't see anything, no image, no on-screen display, no menus ?

It might sound crazy but a few good old-fashioned smacks might 'fix' a possible bad connection.

Thank you for your answers, i take the pictures. They are dark.

The sav nikon have asked To switch the caméra with the charger but the caméra no switch

I had this once. So since I had a non Nikon battery waiting, fully charged I put this in.

Job done. Back to normal.

(Battery much better than Nikon's)

Another thought. If you have speed setting very high in poor light conditions, then you might possibly see a black screen when checking the card.

Also suggest putting the card into the computer. Go to Levels in Photoshop and move the sliders to see if there is anything there. It might give you some idea if the camera is still working.

rat.

I have the same! No picture at all in viewfinder or screen. Have NO clue how that happend.

I can view pictures taken before blackening. I can see menu and so on. It seems that the camera has lost the connection to the sensor. For some reason
