Anyone has or considering the Canon EOS R ?

The "insulted" remark is in regards to a possible spectrum of responses to whatever Canon's new camera is like, not anything you said :)
Nobody knows what Canon future plan, even if they have such 7D II ML replacement, so where the insult comes from? It's weird you use such word.
I am not arguing your opinions, just pointing out your assumptions of me are 100% off the mark.
I am just asking your reason? As I said no reason to feel offended. Just don't take personally.

I don't know. Why do some people seem to get upset at new camera releases? Just saying it is a possible emotional response, as unlikely as I am to have it.

Ahh, sorry, never saw the question, just the assumptions :)

The answer is easy - Sony has been very exciting with their technological development. When the behemoth Canon get moving, that will only push Sony and others further. It's like rolling Christmases for tech nerds.

funny that it is you to have emotional responses that even bring word 'insult' into otherwise normal discussions, wierd.

I have logical analysis, no assumptions. But theoretically everything is possible but I don't see Canon has a plan to have a pro-grade sport/wildlife EF-M camera, RF maybe but then two APS-C lines?

That I agreed and competition is only good for buyers.

I'm not trying to be rude with this question, as I only speak one language myself, but is English your first language? There seems to be a bit of miscommunication here.

I didn't interpret wrong as you brought word 'insult' and now 'rude' on otherwise a reasonable question. It's weird indeed. Clearly you show unnecessary emotion here from a relative new account ;-)

I'm interpreting the answer as a "yes"

Either way, if it's me writing poorly, your misplaced pride, or simply trolling, if I can't tell the difference I'm too tired to be posting, so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, and go with crappy articulation on my behalf.

Goodnight :)

Can you elaborate wherever I insulted you with rude attitude?

I have no idea why you throw into emotion and be offensive? Actually you are bit of rude to question my English and making such assumption with such words. I am trolling, are you kidding?
Goodnight :)
Still morning at my side of the world :-)

You didn't. You're getting further and further into wonderland here with your thinking.

Sorry, this is getting really silly. Again. Goodnight.

So why you even brought the words 'insult' and 'rude' into this conversation as I didn't commit to?

Indeed, totally unnecessary but I accepted and let's move on.

*sigh*

I tried earlier to explain why I used the word "insult." I can only elaborate. I constructed a generic spectrum, and it needed something on the far negative end. I thought about all the negative and often angry comments under new camera articles on DPR and the word "insulted" came to mind. That's all. Nothing more. Anything else is completely in your imagination and misunderstanding of what I've written. I am not insulted by anything you said. I can't imagine personally being insulted by a new camera release, as I'm not sure what they would owe me personally. Disappointed, sure. Insulted, no.

As for "rude", I asked if English is your first language, as I think that could be the cause of the confusion. That is often considered a rude question, and I simply wanted to express that I'm not trying to be rude. I'm jealous of people who speak more than one language. Well, jealously is the wrong word. I respect it.

Hopefully we can now.

I have no idea what kind of 'insults' you got from someone in EOS R release, certainly not from me. There are many negative opinions on EOS R which is true but largely based on fact and some early reviews (DPR review due soon), I have not seen much insults if someone just express personal opinion on camera gear and not to persons.

But at least that easily caused confusion as your brought your lingering emotion from elsewhere into our discussion.

Yeap, let's move on. I am not the same person who you think might 'insulted' you :-) I don't remember I ever chatted with you much before as you are a new member.

Seriously what's wrong with you? You seem not interested in rational discussion or debate but in emotion?

I have been with Canon for 40 years but have made a switch to the Sony A7iii and I love it.

At the moment I feel I have the perfect set up, canon 7Dmk2 with a 10-22 and 70-200 f4 lens, both on that camera are razor sharp. Then the A7 with the fantastic 24-70 GM lens.

I thought using two systems would find me fumbling for buttons that aren't there, but the cameras are so different I find I don't do that, it works.

I did take a look at the Canon EOS R but felt it was over priced and under performs the A7. I think it was rushed out as Canon were concerned at how many were switching over and leaving them. It may stop a few, but most will move on as the sony gives you all they have for one price, while canon love to give you a little and make you wait and pay again for more.

So sorry for long answer, but no, I won't be going back but I am keeping the duel set up I have as it works for me and all the lens are fantastic on those cameras.

(The 10-22 was always a tad soft with my other canon cameras but on the 7D it is amazing.).

It's a good thing that is satire, otherwise I would question your intelligence. It is a nice trolling post though.

Hello Alophind,

If you have not already made your decision, may I suggest the following...

Please review the following videos:

I think they will answer a lot of the questions you have in your mind about the Sonys vs the others.

Good Luck whatever you decide to do.

Im an R3 user , I have my issues with the camera and the lenses cost (although tech wise I like it alot).
I'm little envy of my friend's canon colors .
Anyone here also have the EOS R or considering moving from sony to canon ?

Would like to hear your thoughts.
Is that even a serious question or just simply a troll? The 7R3 capabilities are way beyond the EOS-R. Ask that question once Cannon bring out their higher end MILC
Not trolling sir ...
A thought I had in last couple of days.
Dear Alophind,

the decease you've got is called G.A.S.

(gear acquisition syndrome) - a serious decease that starts with a small portion of curiosity and ends with a check of the bank account and consequently a purchase of things you never needed.

Seriously - when you compare the EOS R to the A7R III there's not much to like on the EOS R - and the color is identical once you use RAW. That's the reason why you buy such a camera - stable color reproduction under all light circumstances.

In case you suffer also from tribalism you should consult a psychologist and start to get a neutral position IMHO

In easy words: "The gras is always greener on the other side" summarizes things best. In reality it is the same gras everywhere and the subtle differences we see in results don't justify the gear (most of the time)

Having owned Nikon and Canon and now owning some Sony gear it is all about size, weight and lens selection. There is IMHO no doubt that your A7R III is the best money can buy currently. I am sure we will see sooner or later an A7R IV or A9R and I do hope some interesting features get built in by that time and I will seriously have a look at this gear and how much it would bring me to better creative potential but ultimately the A7R III is already today not limiting a lot. Resolution, size, weight and lens selection are sensational.

In case a high end EOS R trumps that things might look different - until then things are easy - stay with the best camera currently available ;-)

Totally debunked, right here at DPR on the front page.

Another no camera, no gallery, no challenge ,warrior shills their way into the limelight.
Seriously Sony owners, don't just sit there while Canon creates an urban myth,
true or not, some always sticks.

As for the OP, post some of these defective "R3" shots of yours as RAW and tell us what's wrong with them.
Great video - Thanks for posting
